Due to concerns resulting from the corona virus (COVID-19), the Harrison County Softball and Harrison County Little League will follow the recommendations to suspend the 2020 summer softball/baseball season until May 11, 2020. This will include meetings, practices and games. Both leagues will continue to monitor and follow this situation and will make adjustments to the suspension date if necessary.
The Pitch Hit and Run scheduled for April, 26 also has been postponed. The local level of Pitch, Hit & Run will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the Ebbe Spots Complex in Trenton, MO. Participants must be between the ages of 7-14. Registration must be completed online prior to the event. To register click here. Competition will begin at 2 PM.
GHRA is looking for summer ball umpires for both baseball and softball. We are also looking for concession stand workers. These are both paid positions. If you are interested in either position please complete an application form and return to PO BOX 202.
Application Form Basketball Recognition day is next Saturday, January 18 during the NCMC Pirates basketball games. Players and families get in free. Tip-off is 2:00 PM. (This is a changed in time from the original schedule.)
K-1 and girls teams will be introduced during the halftime of the girls game. PK and the boys teams will be introduced during the halftime of the boys game. If you haven't checked out the new updated schedule, make sure you check it out. Green Hills Recreation Association will host a free basketball clinic for all players participating in this winters GHRA basketball league. The clinic will be held at the Trenton Middle School gym on Saturday, December 7. The clinic will offer basic basketball skills in ball handling, dribbling, shooting, and defense. Registration starts at 1:00 PM with the competition starting at 1:30. Participants must be between the ages of 7-14. To preregister click here. GHRA will hold its Opening Ceremony for the 2019 summer ball season following the PHR competition on Griffin Field. All teams will have their picture taken by Republican-Times and will be introduced to the crowd. Players should arrive 15 minutes early in uniform. The local level of Pitch, Hit & Run will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Ebbe Spots Complex in Trenton, MO. Registration starts at 1:00 PM with the competition starting at 1:30. Summer Ball registration forms are now available. Students in area elementary schools should be bringing home registration forms the week of February 4. Trenton Middle School students can pick up a registration form off the circulation desk in the TMS library/media center. Registration forms can also be found on our website.
GHRA participates in three summer ball leagues. Please pay close attention to age (boys), grade level (girls), and what equipment is needed when completing the registration form. The registration form and medical release form need to be filled out completely. Pay close attention and double check your child's age, grade level for school year 2019-20, and t-shirt size. Girls playing softball will want to move up at least one shirt size due to the compression fit of the softball jerseys. Registration forms are due back by February 22, 2019. Late forms can be handed in until March 8 with a $30 late fee. Registration forms can be returned to American Family Insurance, Grundy County Health Department, or mailed to GHRA at PO Box 202.
